Ruth has worked full-time within the printing and graphic arts industry for over 28 years, beginning as an apprentice compositor at Cheque Printers and Encoders in Highett, Victoria. Ruth completed her Compositor Apprenticeship in 1985 and became the first female to ever win Printing Apprentice of the Year (1985). Being a recipient of PATEFA Study Grant (1984) and completing the Print Survey Certificate (1986) provided a sound understanding of the printing process. Ruth moved into the advertising agency sector, gaining experience with typesetting, graphic design, art direction and creative management on a series of major accounts. She continued to work closely within printing and graphic arts industry via agencies and studios including Gasworks, Show-Ads, Target Australia. Ruth completed her Master of Design (Graphic Communication) in 2005, and added brand management and marketing strategy alignment to her set of skills, and is excited to be able to ensure the integrity of all visual communication and printing completed by Footnotes Design & Marketing is in line with the expectations of the design, and that of the clients. |
Craig Gordon – Indentured Tradesman (Printer), Graphic Artist (Cert IV)
Prepress and Printer
After 15 years’ experience as high quality 5 colour printer, Craig decided to move off the printing press and in front of a computer. He successfully completed his finished art course, and, under the tutorage of Ruth in our existing studio, his knowledge of printing has enhanced our prepress knowledge. |
